Amanda moves up to 4th in HSCC Formula Ford Championship

Amanda Whitaker moved up to 4th in the HSCC Formula Ford Championship this weekend at Brands Hatch.

Racing on the fabulous full Grand Prix circuit, she performed well despite no pre-event testing and lined up 6th on the grid of 36 cars, despite setting her fastest lap on a track strewn with oil.

In an incident fraught race, Amanda held her position at the start, moving up a place after a spin from Michael Lyons and she stayed in 5th to the flag, despite a late race safety car.

The race was won by reigning British Formula Ford Champion Callum Macleod who just pipped ex-karter and fellow rising start Darren Burke over the line.

She next races at Pembrey in a fortnight where she hopes to chase down the title contenders.
