Amanda's Back!

Amanda Whitaker will be making her motor racing comeback in 2005 in the prestigious European Historic Formula 2 series this year.

The championship visits some of the finest racing circuits in the world including Hockenheim and Nurburgring in Germany, Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium, Le Mans Bugatti and Dijon in France and Brands Hatch, Silverstone and Oulton Park in England. The cars are a hark back to the glorious days of yesteryear with wide slick racing tyres and limited aerodynamics allowing for easier overtaking and close wheel-to-wheel racing.

Amanda will be racing in a competitive 1976 Chevron B34 car in the Formula Atlantic class of the series, following in the footsteps of her father Ronnie Whitaker who raced in the same class in the 1970's. The car will be run by G.F. Beck Motorsport alongside fellow racers Christian Fisher, Mark Lindstone and Amanda's Silverstone racing school co-worker Chris Alford who helped to find her the drive.


Raring to go!

She was given the opportunity by Swiss series President Oskar Christen "I would like to thank Oskar for giving me this chance - I will be grabbing it with both hands and giving 100% commitment to be successful" she said.

Amanda is hoping to fit in a series of tests in the car prior to the championship beginning on 22nd April at Hockenheim. She will be supported by her partner former BARC Formula Renault race winner Anthony Dunn throughout the year.
